Huntsville Lakes Council of Ontario is an association of Huntsville and area lakes whose purposes are to identify and then provide a single strong voice to lobby for issues held in common among the lakes; to facilitate lake plan development; to provide education on issues involving lakes and to promote stewardship.

2010 Freshwater Summit

This is your opportunity to help influence policy on the management of our freshwater. Freshwater is an important local, provincial, national, and international resource and how we manage our inland lakes and rivers has economic, social, and environmental implications. The 2010 Freshwater Summit will highlight issues and trends and examine policy options for future action.

 

LURA Working Group Meeting

The Town of Huntsville has hired LURA to assist in the development of a Sustainability Plan

 Meetings are held in the meeting room on the 2nd floor of the Huntsville Town Hall.

Preliminary Information about LURA and the Huntsville Sustainability Plan

The Town of Huntsville has hired LURA to assist in the development of a Sustainability Plan and will oversee the entire process. Final decisions throughout this process will be made through the Environmental Committee and Council. A Working Group with representatives from Huntsville including , Town Councillors and staff , LURA, local Business and the Green Plan Task Force, has been established to contribute ideas to the plan.

Membership

Huntsville Lakes Council Membership is available to any association representing a lake group regardless of geographical location. 

Dues are set at $35.00 for the 2009-2010 membership period.

 We also welcome your donations as they help us provide education guidance and support to waterfront property owners, their respective associations and like organizations on issues affecting our lakes, watershed, government and the environment.
